Day Hike

Title: Day Hike
Location: King’s River Falls
Description: Ozark Highlands Trail Association is leading a Hike on Sunday, November 19th to Glory Hole and Kings River Falls. We’ll meet up at Harps in Elkins at 9:00 am and carpool to the Glory Hole, a 2 mile in and out hike rated moderate difficulty due to elevation gain, then drive back to King’s River Falls for a level 3/4 mile hike into this locally famous swimming hole under a spectacular waterfall. OHT Dayhike

Title: OHT Dayhike
Location: Indian Cr TH to Lick Branch TH
Description: Approx 5 miles in length with initial 5/8 mile Indian Creek Spur Trail climb being the most strenuous of whole hike. We’ll hike about 2 miles east after reaching the OHT where the trail reaches Marinoni Scenic Area with bluffs, giant house sized boulders, & year around spring fed Briar Branch to feast your eyes/camera on!
We’ll stop to eat lunch here before continuing on to Lick Branch TH to end. Weather is predicted to be in low 70’s so join me if you can.
Meet up at Elkins Harps Store as usual @ 10:30 am for carpooling or meet us at Indian Creek TH/Canoe Launch on Hwy 215 @ 11:30 am.
NOTE: A couple of us will carry chainsaws to do some maintenance on OHT (fallen trees). Dogs are welcome on this hike with leash & if they’re in shape & friendly around other dogs.

Hare Mountain Hike-In

Title: Hare Mountain Hike-In
Location: Hare Mountain on OHT
Description: Hare Mountain Hike-In October 28-29, 2017 is an OHTA traditional annual family fun hike up Hare Mountain from Morgan Field TH and camp overnight event (or walkout by flashlight! to Morgan Field TH) led by Bob and Dana Cable. Park at the Morgan Field Trail Head, then hike 1.6 miles west on the OHT up to the top of Hare Mountain, the highest point on the OHT. Hike up whenever you want,
The Hike-In gathering will begin with a potluck (bring a dish to share) and story-telling at 6 p.m. For more information, call Dana at 479-879-4612.
