Buffalo River blaze, lop, and saw

Buffalo River blaze, lop, and saw

A December 15 work trip had 4 of us lopping, blazing and clearing trees from the trail along the Buffalo River.  The lopping and blazing began at Rocky Creek – about 2 miles downstream of Red Bluff Road – and continued about 1.8 miles further downstream to the area formerly known as the Roberts’ Tract.  The whole 3.8 mile area had trees to cut.  The trail between Red Bluff and South Maumee Roads is now in pretty good shape.

It rained quite a bit before, and continued lightly through the first hour on the trail.  Creek levels were high and we knew we’d have to wade Rocky Creek.  We tried rock-hopping Little Rocky Creek but I think we all ended-up with boots full of water.
