Rendezvous ’19 at Lake Fort Smith State Park is over.

The festivities began Friday morning with a 5-mile hike on part of the Boston Mountains Trail followed by some cold beverages at cabin #9.  A dinner of brats, burgers, and beans helped replenish our energy stores.

Saturday morning began with the Board cooking breakfast at the pavilion, followed by a 3-mile hike on another part of the Boston Mountains Trail.  Bryce and Erin, one of the Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainer teams presented a workshop geared toward the youngsters for National Kids to Parks Day.  Later in the afternoon Erin and Bryce presented a LNT workshop for us older kids.  The workshop was interrupted by a tornado warning and we watched a funnel cloud pass over the park just a bit north of us.  Events for the rest of the day included the Annual Meeting, dinner, and live music by the Bear Chasers.  Saturday’s attendance was about 25 people – much lower than expected, perhaps in part due to the bad weather.
