Title: OHT 4 mile Day Hike
Location: Dockery’s Gap TH east to FR1704
Description: From Dockery’s Gap Trailhead located on Locke Rd. and on over to FR 1704. This will be a great Sunday morning to mid-afternoon hike in which participants will get to see a wide variety of wildflowers, trees in bloom, geological formations, and even conduct some very light-duty maintenance along the way. There will be one wet creek-crossing of Hurricane Creek near the end of the hike. This hike is of moderate difficulty and will include about 500 ft of descent over 3.5 miles and end with about a 500 ft ascent. The primary meet-up spot will be at Lake Fort Smith State Park at 9:30 a.m. Please contact hike leader John Pennington at jhpennington.uaex.edu if you plan on participating.
