Description: Start the New Year right!! LFSSP is sponsoring a First Day Hike at the park again this year. The plan is to hike the OHT/Shepherd Springs Loop on Jan1st, 2014 from 9—12:30 approx., but if we have folks with young children show up we might hike our new Boston Mtn multi-use trail. Either way the distance is going to be about 4 miles. We are going to follow the hike with a lunch of black-eyed peas and corn bread at the park Visitor Center. The OHTA and the public can come and join us for this great nationwide event. Park Interpreter Joe Hamilton is encouraging people to let the park know in advance if they plan to participate so they can ensure there will be enough food for everyone.
