Location: Lake Fort Smith State Park
Description: Day Hike on Shepherd Springs Loop October 4, 2014. Come enjoy one of Arkansas’ newest trail sections at Lake Fort Smith State Park. The group will leave the Visitor Center at 10:00 a.m. Bring your water and a lunch to enjoy on the trail. This 5-mile hike follows the shore of Lake Fort Smith, then climbs to a ridge overlooking the lake. The return trip is along the Ozark Highlands Trail as it follows the lake shore and passes by some historical sites. Hike is rated easy to moderate.
