Title: OHT Special Interest Day Hike
Location: Woolum on Buffalo River
Description: > This Sunday, May 17, Dedra Trotter will complete her quest to thru hike the traditional OHT by finishing the final 4 miles from Woolum on the Buffalo River. I plan to accompany her & am inviting any of you to join us.
> My plan is to drive over Early Sunday morning(leave Elkins at 6 am), park at Woolum(Dedra is camping out there Saturday night) & try to get on the Trail by 8-8:30 am.
> Two wet crossings at Woolum(beginning & ending) will require water footwear, & valuables sealed in daypacks(Buff River can be waist or chest deep here)! Total mileage will be 8 miles, but hiking is relatively level as we hike Gene Rush WMA along Richland Creek Valley. Highlight will be hiking up to the Nar’s (Narrows) at mm 162.7 (google the Narrows if you’re not familiar with)!
