Location: OHT Sylamore Section – Twin Creek Rd to Matney Knob

Distance of hike: approximately 8 miles

Difficulty of hike: moderate due to undulating terrain

Meeting Time: 9:00 a.m.

Meeting place: Gravel pit (which really is not a “Pit”, but a flat spot where they used to pile that gray highway gravel, BUT henceforth will be known as “The Gravel Pit”) on the left beside Hwy 341 (Push Mountain Rd.) approx. 1/2 mile past Twin Creek Road/FR 1151 (there is a sign for Twin Creek Rd.). You will see some cars parked there at the gravel pit. The trail crosses the highway here so there is a Pedestrian sign. You will need to meet us here so we can set up the shuttle cars.

To get there from Hwy. 14, turn north at the intersection of Hwy. 14 and Hwy. 341. You will go PAST the Brush Creek TH. To get there from Hwy 201, turn south at the intersection of Hwy. 201 and Hwy. 341 (going past the Lone Rock Rd. turn-off).

Plan: From the meeting place on Hwy 341 we will shuttle some cars for a one-way hike.

Extras: All ages welcome. Please bring a lunch, water, and proper hiking gear (boots, headlamp, cap/beanie, gloves, etc.)

NOTE: If the rain is imminent, we will move the hike to Tuesday, Jan. 14
