Hike BRT/OHT

Hike BRT/OHT

Date: Jan 30 2020, 9:30AM
Type: Day hike
Location: BRT/OHT – Dillard’s Ferry to Spring Creek Road

Distance of hike: approximately 6.1 miles

NOTE: Depending on the number of cars and limited parking at Spring Creek Rd., we may walk an extra 3/4 mile on the road to the Spring Creek Campground—just so you know. We will decide when we meet up.

Difficulty of hike: moderate due to undulating terrain

Meeting Time: 9:30 a.m.

Meeting place: Dillard’s Ferry on the Buffalo National River (36.06559, -92.57825)

Take Hwy 14 south out of Yellville, AR for approx. 16 miles to Dillard’s Ferry, which is the bridge that crosses the Buffalo River. Immediately south of the bridge turn right onto a gravel road, which will bring you to the parking area near the bridge. The trailhead is under the bridge.

Plan: From the meeting place we will shuttle some cars for a one-way hike.

Extras: All ages welcome. Please bring a lunch, water, and proper hiking gear (boots, headlamp, cap/beanie, gloves, etc.)

NOTE: Kimball Creek could possibly be a wet (not wide) crossing.  Depends on rainfall. Use your own judgment RE: wading shoes.
