This is a beautiful section of the BRT/OHT with an abundance of scenery!  You definitely don’t want to miss this! Here are the details:

Thursday February 6, 2020

Distance of hike: approximately 5.5 miles

NOTE: We will be using a shuttle service. Approx. $5.00-8.00 per person. Bring enough cash to pay the driver.

Difficulty of hike: moderate due to undulating terrain

Meeting Time: 9:00 a.m.

Meeting place: Dillard’s Ferry on the Buffalo National River.  36.0656, -92.5783

Take Hwy 14 south out of Yellville, AR for approx. 16 miles to Dillard’s Ferry, which is the bridge that crosses the Buffalo River. Immediately south of the bridge turn right onto a gravel road, which will bring you to the parking area near the bridge. You can also turn in across the highway by restrooms and drive under the bridge. There is a big grass parking spot under the bridge.

Plan: From there we will be driving down Spring Creek Road to leave vehicles and meet our shuttle driver.

Extras: All ages welcome. Please bring a lunch, water, and proper hiking gear (boots, headlamp, cap/beanie, gloves, etc.)

NOTE: I am told there is one most likely wet creek trail crossing.  Bring wading shoes if you need them.
