OHT North Base Camp

This Maintenance Base Camp will enable us to take care of some problem areas from Woolum (mile 164) to Matney Knob (mile 253), getting the trail ready for hiking season and trail runs/events that the OHT will be hosting.

This Base Camp will be a camping event. So, you can bring your camping gear- we will have ONE cabin reserved at Cedarwoods Cabins for restrooms/showers. There will be space outside of the cabin for tents. Also, we will provide BREAKFAST, LUNCH, DINNER for all participants. Hard hats, equipment, and safety gear will be provided, if needed.
Members and nonmembers are welcome.

We need individuals to help in many ways- Loppers, Sawyers, Trimmers, “Swampers” will be needed on the trail. We can also use help in the camp- if you can help cook, clean, take care of the camp– that would be greatly appreciated as much as working on the trail.

We need to get numbers for each camp so we can order food and T-shirts, so please sign up on the link below. After the cutoff date (Oct 8 ), please contact us.

We will begin Trail Work on Friday October 13 at base camp at 9:00am. Camping will be available the Thursday evening before the Base Camp.
