Bridge & Trailhead Closure
The bridge over Big Piney Creek (mm 103.9) is closed for a rehabilitation project. Work is expected to continue until December 3, 2026. Hikers will not be able to cross using the bridge. Fording Big Piney Creek might be possible with as dry as it has been, but it could become impassable quickly with heavy rain.
Fort Douglas trailhead (mm 103.7) will be used as a staging area for this project and may be inaccessible. Trail users are being asked to access the trail from Haw Creek Campground (which may also close due to heavy rain).
Please plan accordingly.
